I worked with the 'transporter's for the day today as part of orientation.
these are the amazing people who do all the running around errands ex: get patient from room and bring to OR waiting areas......

So I go with the lady (R)I'm following to get the patient. Get to the room, introduce ourselves, and the patient smiles and asks what we do. R says she's a transporter and that I am a new RN at the hospital.
This patient looks at me and goes "nurse?! you look like you're 12!"

oy. There's confidence for ya.

Still, I guess it's cool to look younger.
But 12? come on.

All in all though. Things is aight.

Round 2...

Second week as the OR nurse. woot.

That means I made it thru week one. HA.

Actually it wasn't bad at all. I liked it alright, especially when I started oreintation on the actual OR floor.
That's what the following  #___ of weeks will be: OR orientation.
Which I am happy about.

Today was the MtGreenwood/Blue Island picnic and it was much fun.
Followed by semi-napping while watchign Arrested Dev
And then random soccer shenanigans at the high school. (I still won)

Good day.
Pray for a good day tomorrow too.

Lotta luv!

New Dawn....

Tomorrow I start my job. Not too terribly early. And it's just an orientation day.

Still......

Lots of up/down feelings along with many questions and ideas

Such as.... what to pack for lunch?

Too legit......

So monday....
Took the test. It was forEVER long and I was tired afterward (mentally) and not realy thrilled with the thing as  whole....
The thing with this test is that you don't get your results immediately, so Tuesday I just chilled and sat around trying NOT to think about the outcome of my passing/not passing....

Wednesday.
Went with the BI crew to a White Sox game, which was just so much fun since it's the greatest b-ball team ever, even if there were some heathen fans who came with, so that helped to keep my mind off the results of the test.
I couldn't make myself look them up, so I assigned my poor dad to check if the results were in via the website and if so, to check what they were....
So.
Watching the game, and we go down by a run, blah, and my phone rings. I'm sitting with friends who know I'm waiting to hear, so I answer and tell my dad that we're losing, but only by one. And he says, 'oh don't worry cuz you're a real nurse. You passed".
So naturally I screamed outloud and the weight of the world left my shoulders. :)
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

We ended up losing 5-4, but I was ok with that, cuz I"M THE NURSE. booya.

Thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement. I'm a legit RN and so very happy for it.
But couldn't have done it without my friends, and I'm only a nurse cuz of God, He got me thru.

It's weird, but today, I don't have to study or 'do' an;ything.... It's a cool feeling for once.

paka!

What is up.....

Here's the quick run down....

Friday: Got THE call (er,... voicemail?..) offering THE job I wanted. So naturally, I listened, saved, and ran screaming into my parents room where they were peacefully napping and scared them awake by reapeating "IgothejobIgothejobIgotthejob!"
But they were happy to hear and we went out for yummy dinner.
For those that don't know... the job is in the Operating Room. Which I'm SO very excited for. I just have to call in the morning to accept and do the detail work. Yay.

Tomorrow afternoon.
3pm.
Is THE NCLEX exam.
I am calm/nervous.
Prayer is a most appreaciated thing right now :)

Wednesday ahs the possibility of a Sox Game, so that brightens my day, and 24hrs from now,... life will be good.

BOS starts next week monday. I'm excited.

All in all........
"My life is good....reeeeeeeeeeeeeal good"
